CORONA QUARANTINE ACTIVITIES; THINGS TO DO DURING COVID-19 WITH YOUR KIDS
#HOMEACTIVITIES #HOMESCHOOL #QUARANTINESCHOOLING #STAYHOME

The world is a bit scary and can be overwhelming right now. As I am writing this and doing the preliminary research there was a 4.0 earthquake. This was the aftershock from the mornings 5.7 earthquake. This on top of the COVID-19 Quarantine; It’s a lot. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed. The world is practicing Social Distancing and being isolated can be lonely but that doesn’t mean you are alone!
I am sure like me you keep seeing the “the perfect” schedule for your family, for homeschooling, and seeing parents getting so frustrated and overwhelmed. Just a reminder it’s okay to not be Pinterest perfect. It’s okay to not have a daily schedule. Don’t set unrealistic expectations because you feel like you should. Take a deep breath. You got this. My current schedule is no schedule. Our day includes: Meals, Daily chores, walking the dog, schoolwork, one extra house project daily, reading and fun. In no particular order. I try to keep all activities to an hour max and sometimes we don’t get to them all, it’s okay!

The good new is we are all in this TOGETHER. I am so inspired by the world coming together and seeing the good out there. Be the light! Reach out to your friends and family, schedule video chats and play dates, offer your expertise all from your home!!!
I want to schedule daily video chats with all of you!!

Inside Activities:
Learn new activities- Download a language app, learn to make Origami, how to do that think you would do if you had more time!!!
Take up meditation-My favorite app for this is Insight Timer. I especially love Sarah Blondin on there!! For kids meditation or sleep stories or even just a calm down sesh we use Moshi Twilight Stories. Bedtime in our house used to take at least 1.5 hours. Thank you, Moshi and Goldie Hawn!!

*These are both paid apps but they both have free sections available (which include my favorite parts!) Here is a free 1 month subscription for the Moshi app:

Organize your house: I know its not that fun LOL but we have added 1 task to our daily chores to be done together daily and my house is cleaner than its been and we are all home all day so for us it works!
Make gratitude lists: I love this. In our family at bedtime each night we “Do our day” we all get together after brushing our teeth (Usually all in my bed) and we take turns asking: How was your day? What was your favorite part? What was something kind you did? What are you grateful for? I think its so important to promote kindness and gratitude, and sometimes a list snaps you out of a bad mood!
In your yard:

Fun stuff: Blow bubbles, play with sidewalk chalk, play ball, walk your dog, ride bikes, fly a kite. Do these with your children. Outside time every day is so good for you just make sure you are keeping social distance if anyone else is out. Bring schoolwork out and help the kids outside on your porch, plan a picnic in your yard, have dinner outside.
Yard stuff: Get your yard ready for spring. Get a head start on your spring yard goals, you’re your garden, build above ground garden boxes.
